On 19th May, our various painting and drawing groups got together to choose the best ever modern painting, i.e. from around 1860 to the present day.
Guy Palmer, who facilitated the voting had shortlisted around 100 paintings. These were organised into a knockout competition, where the participants voted the winner of each pairing until the final winner was chosen.
And the winner was Van Gogh’s Starry Night (1889).
