How are deaths investigated in Australia? Who are the Coroners and what do they do? Who are the Forensic Pathologists? Is what we see on ‘CSI’ and ‘Silent Witness’ reasonably true to life? What happens at an autopsy? Professor David Ranson will take you behind the doors of the Melbourne mortuary and explain what goes on when a death is reported to the Coroner.
David is a professor at both Monash Medical School and the La Trobe University Law School. He has investigated deaths associated with major incidents around the world including the conflict in Kosovo, the Bali bombings, the Thailand Tsunami and the loss of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. He has also worked on a range of television series, including The Doctor Blake Mysteries, City Homicide and State Coroner.
