Guy Palmer on how Google Maps is about more than getting you from A to B

This talk will be given by Nillumbik U3A member Guy Palmer.

Google maps is now about much more than just helping you get from A to B. In this talk, Guy will cover the full functionality of Google maps and, in so doing, will illustrate some of the sorts of things that you can now do with your phone. Particular aspects that he will cover include: controlling your phone by voice; controlling your car’s audiovisual system; searching for types of thing (e.g. nearby cafes that are open now); interacting with businesses (e.g. ringing them); creating multi-stop routes; saving routes; sharing your location with others; using maps whilst offline; creating your own maps; your history and timeline; and streetview.
