A number of us went to see Eltham Little Theatre’s latest play, The lion, the witch and the wardrobe. An obvious challenge for the production was how to portray the animal characters, including Mr and Mrs Beaver and Aslan the lion (aka Jesus). They decided to use puppets. From a poll of some of the audience, the complex puppet used for Aslan was favourably received whilst the simple puppets used for the beavers were less so.
