The results of laboratory tests performed on body fluids such as blood and urine are commonly used to screen for disease, diagnose disease, assess disease severity, monitor disease progression and determine the effectiveness of drug treatment. This presentation will cover some common laboratory tests in terms of their clinical uses, how they relate to disease pathophysiology, and how to correctly interpret test results.
