Possible U3A magazine

Nillumbik U3A is exploring the possibility of creating a semi-regular printed publication that highlights the creative work, activities and concerns of U3A members. The publication would aim at the education and stimulation of U3A members.

The contents of such a publication could include: interviews with local creative writers, photographers, artists, playwrights, poets, song writers and non-fiction writers; book reviews; creative writing; extracts from memoirs; non-fiction articles of interest and concern to retirees; photographs; quizzes and explorations of words and their origins; and quirky items of interest.

The project will require: an editorial group to decide on content; people with editorial and proofreading skills; people with skills in design and layout; photographers and interviewers; people to liaise with Nillumbik Council and others (e.g. to organise funding and to arrange for local sale of the magazine); people with publishing experience (e.g. to negotiate with printers); and mainly, people who have an interest in such a venture.
