Music therapy and ageing

This talk will be given by Zara Thompson. It will provide an overview of how and why music can be useful to health and wellbeing and finish with some experiential music activities to demonstrate how music can impact mood and physical health.

Zara is a registered Music Therapist working with children and adults with disabilities and people seeking asylum. She also facilitates the Musical Memories Choir for people living with dementia and their family and friends. She is currently completing a PhD through the National Music Therapy Research Unit at the University of Melbourne and is passionate about sharing her knowledge about music for health and wellbeing at any age or ability.
