Many people wonder what it would be like to live on a lighthouse and what sorts of people chose that lifestyle. U3A member June Rushton will begin her talk with the story of her father and his time as a Coldstream Guard, the oldest, continuously serving, regular regiment in the British Army. As part of the Household Division, one of its principal roles is the protection of the monarchy. She will then tell how her family moved to Australia and ended up as a lighthouse family living on Bruny Island, Swan Island and Cape Sorrell before transferring over to Victorian stations at Wilsons Promontory, Cape Otway and Cape Nelson.
