In 20th Century German literature, Sabi’s great-uncle, Hermann Hesse, is a well-established author and poet. He became widely known in the 1960s and 70s when his work was translated into English and Sidhartha and Steppenwolf were made into films. His writings strongly influenced the hippy and beat generation and still have relevance today. He was also a competent artist and musician.

Sabi is a retired teacher, founding president of Nillumbik U3A and author of A Life in Two Suitcases and Slaying Dragons All on My Own.
